About the Author, Laura Lynn Burke
Laura Lynn is known to wear a multitude of hats.
She has gone from an Avon Lady to CEO.
Her story is quite simple: through partnering and power networking,
she is able to build strong alliances that help develop her businesses.
Her career started in real estate as an investor and real estate agent. She intertwined her real estate experience into the mortgage arena, becoming a loan officer. As a loan officer, Laura originated in excess of 35 million dollars of residential mortgage transactions in one year.
Having higher aspirations, she opened a mortgage brokerage company with two partners. As a broker-owner, she taught others the skills needed to be successful loan originators. Consequently, she understands both business management and loan origination. Her 18 years of experience within the real estate and mortgage industries has given her the strength and knowledge to teach others.
Burke is CEO and founder of Footprints International dba The Mortgage Institute, training and consulting company designed with you in mind! We offer seminars and training to promote business ownership, entrepreneurship, sales & marketing and customer service.
Laura is a graduate of the Illinois Tax Training Institute, where she serves as an instructor. Burke has been “admitted to practice before the IRS”, as an enrolled agent. Burke is planning on taking the Federal Tax Court test in November 2010, to be approved as a United States Tax Court Practitioner, USTCP.
She is CEO of Professional Tax Masters, Inc. PTM‘s specializes in assisting tax payers with tax resolutions such as tax liens, negations, payment plans and offers in compromise. She also works with business clients; corporate, partnerships and sole proprietors.
Burke has taught for the Illinois Association of Mortgage Brokers, Education & Training Co, and other organizations. Many of her programs provide continuing education hours necessary to maintain the requirements mandated by the mortgage industry. Laura also provides private corporate training as well as seminars to the public.
Laura has been a TV talk show host, on CAN TV, Chicago Access Network serving one million viewers, on the show “Knowledge and Wealth to You!” The show was informative in detailing procedures and products for first time homebuyers, move-up buyers, identity theft, credit scoring and other such related topics.
She has served as a trainer for Pre-Paid Legal Services, “Fast Start to Success Program” and Small Business Trainer for Go Small Biz.com owned and operated by Fran Tartkenton, business entrepreneur, retired NFL Super Bowl player and member of the NFL Hall of Fame.
Burke recently signed a book contract to write a chapter for a new book, Stepping Stones to Success Goals & Proven Strategies from the Industry’s Leading Experts, co-authored with Jack Canfield and Deepak Chopra.

In her free time, Laura enjoys dancing. From hot salsa to smooth foxtrots. She
loves all dances. She has competed in ballroom dance competitions and performed
showcases, with her partner and husband, Joseph (Joe) Burke.
Burke is a wife, mother to three; Jennifer, Jacquelyn and Dale as well as grandmother (Gammie) to three; Devlin, Abigail, Owen and soon to be number four.
She also enjoys drawing cartoon spoofs depicting women in business and life. She chooses to use herself to create her characters’ scenarios. “Inside Every Dynamic Woman …is a Crazed Woman!”
